Bonjour! J’apprends à parler français. The French assignment came in this morning. I know a few words and statements, but not enough to assist my daughter with her work. So, Google became my handy translator; I dove right into my appointed duty. Her homeroom teacher showed up once per week on Zoom for a thirty minutes session.
Good morning, Teacher’s Assistant. Good morning, Substitute Teacher. How is it going with your class? How are you managing juggling you working from home and working with your child(ren) remote access learning?
It became a challenge for me sometimes. I had to get my daughter out of her bed to the makeshift classroom on my dining room table by eight o’clock ready for remote learning, but had no issue when it was lunchtime. Yesterday, I received a message from the teacher stating that the work my daughter was producing was not her regular work. Why was that? It was because she had a dedicated one on one teacher, and I taught her, so she understood the process and executed what she learned. That observation was proof that I was doing a fantastic job and that I taught her well.
For all of you who are balancing the task, keep doing your best. It will benefit your child(ren) in the long run. Even when you get frustrated, tired, stressed, and at times you had to go on YouTube to figure out how to solve a problem, keep on teaching your child(ren).
You have been teaching your child(ren) from the first day you met him/her, so you got this. In the face of this COVID-19 induced quarantine, teach your child(ren), and invest in their education. For the remainder of the school year, show the teachers that you deserved half of their paychecks and the teacher of the quarter award. High five!!! You are the best!!!
Ok, I said it!
