It was Friday and payday🤑. My team and I decided to treat ourselves and order lunch. We had menus from Chinese, American, Italian, and the Caribbean cuisines. After minutes of elimination, we all decide to order from American cuisine. The colored menu enticed us with its array of delicacies and fruit smoothies.
It was difficult for me to decide on what to get. The pictures of the food were mouth-watering. I finally decided on the Bacon Cheese Burger with fries for $9. The colors popped between the toasted buns. There were leafy green lettuce, red tomatoes, purple onions, orange cheese, and the juicy meaty slab of ground beef with two pieces of bacon for effect. I swallowed the water that pooled under my tongue and placed my order. Wait, I forgot something, the fruit smoothie for $5.99. There were sixteen varieties to choose from on the menu. I wanted #8 – Sweet Bives made with blueberries, raspberries, bananas, honey, and almond milk.
Lunch was going to be good😋. I anticipated the fulfilling satisfaction. A coworker drove to the restaurant to pick up the orders, and what she brought back was a total disappointment. The Bacon Cheese Burger was not what I expected to see when I unwrapped the waxed paper. It looked nothing like the picture on the menu. The Bacon Cheese Burger was a joke. The buns were saturated with mayonnaise and tartar sauce. Instead of leafy green lettuce, they put shredded soggy cabbage. There were no tomatoes and no fries. However, that was not the worst part. Check out my fruit smoothie. See for yourself. Slides 1, 2, 3, and 4.
I was not a satisfied customer. Why was the fruit smoothie so gelatinous in texture? Why was it able to stand unsupported out of the cup? Why wasn’t it melting? Furious, I dialed the number on the brochure to voice my displeasure and complained about the order. I spoke with the manager, Jimmy. He apologized and said that the thickness happened because it was left out of the refrigerator for too long🤔. He said that he would give me a complimentary smoothie of my choice on my next visit. I told him that I was not the one who picked up the order; how would he know who to give the smoothie to next time? He said, “Ask for Jimmy and mention the smoothie.” I will not eat from there again and will never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Ok, I said it!
