Bruises adorn her body
Tears run down her cheeks
As she begs him, please stop
But, he looks at her and shrieks.
His breath reeks with liquor
His eyes were bloodshot
He utters word of hatred
As he slaps her across the back.
She crouches in the corner
Wondering when this is going to stop
Or when will she find the courage
And really fight back.
After his satisfaction
He takes a seat next to her
Why did you make me do this?
Tell me, were you a bad girl?
She looks down at her hands
As an ashamed child would do
Trying not to make eye contact
For fear of another round, part two.
He tells her that he loves her
Never will he hit her again
Should she take his word as is?
Or tell him it's the end?
Decisions, decisions
One that she'll have to make
Her life depends on it
It is for her own sake.
She values her life
It's the only one she's got
So, when he falls asleep
she'll pack her bag and flee.
To that place where she longed to be, safe and free.
Ok, I said it!
